Nanoegineering for Mechanobiology

Mechanobiology of Molecular and Cellular Systems

3-7 March 2024 Camogli, Genova, Italy

Mechanobiology emerges at the crossroads of medicine, biology, biophysics, and biosystems engineering and describes how proteins, cells, tissues, and organs respond to mechanical cues and contribute to development, differentiation, physiology, and disease. This conference addresses the two grand challenges in mechanobiology, which are (I) to develop nanotechnological tools that allow to quantify how complex biological systems sense, transduce, respond, and apply mechanical signals from molecular to cellular scales, and (II) to build on this to better understand and control molecular and cellular systems.
